I’m often asked if I can include attributes from a user’s Terminal Services Profile tab in their AD properties in AD Info and AD Tidy, but for whatever reason MS decided to store these attributes in a very strange format so it is not easy. I’ve finally spent some time on it and got something working now and thought I would share my results (and frustration) with the rest of the community in case it helps anyone else out.

As mentioned in a previous post, I’m currently working on an Active Directory permissions reporting tool and I just wanted to get some feedback from you guys on which features you’d like me to make a priority for the first release.
As you’ve probably guessed from the title, the next tool I’m going to be releasing is a permissions reporting tool for Active Directory. It will be similar in concept to my NTFS Permissions Reporter tool, but obviously instead of reporting on file system permissions it will report on permissions assigned to objects in AD (e.g who can modify which properties of which user accounts, OUs, etc etc).
I recently made this little tool as a favour for someone that wanted a simple alternative to giving first line support technicians access to the full AD Users & Computers MMC tool when all they needed to do was reset passwords or unlock accounts. I figured others might find it useful so its now available to download from my website.
I’m considering making a tool for tracking/auditing user logons, as this is something people often ask me to make, but there’s one thing I want to get your opinions on first.
