The latest version of my Active Directory photo importing tool is now available, and yes it finally has command line support!
This new version includes plenty of user requested features, lots of GUI changes, and a few general improvements and features that I’ve been wanting to add for a while. I’m afraid you’ll have to wait until version 2.5 for command line support though.
I have received a few requests for new features in my AD Photo Edit application recently, so I have released a new version that includes all of these features. There are a couple of small changes to the Free Edition but the majority of the new features are in the bulk import and bulk export functions of the program so only appear in the Bulk Edition.
I was quite surprised to find that in the list of websites that link to my website there was an entry for support.microsoft.com. Upon closer inspection it turns out that there is an MS KB article that suggests using my AD Photo Edit application to upload user images to Active Directory 🙂
I have finally finished the bulk import and bulk export enabled version of AD Photo Edit… and also updated the free version with some bug fixes and minor enhancements. Yes, the bulk edition is not going to be free I’m afraid (but it is very cheap compared to the competition) – details can be found below.

There seems to be a bit of confusion and general lack of good information on the web regarding the thumbnailPhoto Active Directory attribute that Outlook 2010 uses to show user/contact pictures. As I’m making a program that lets you upload images to this attribute (see this post) I have learnt a fair bit about it and thought I would just clear up a few things.
I fancied a quick break from making my AD reporting app (AD Info) so decided to make a program that will help you upload images into the thumbnailPhoto attribute in Active Directory that Outlook 2010 uses to display user/contact images.
